Each year, the South Carolina Film Commission and Trident Technical College offer grants up to $12,500 for production of South Carolina short film projects. The 2013 funding cycle is now open, with applications due May 31, 2013.

The Push To Get More Movies In Beaufort
BEAUFORT, S.C. - Forrest Gump, The Big Chill-- two popular movies filmed in Beaufort. But we haven't had any big names since before 2000, and the chamber is doing all it can to get lawmakers to help change that.
In the movie that coined that phrase about a box of chocolates came more than scenery in the local flavor it brought us.
"Who's to say whether our chocolate was what was in the box that they were eating, but what I know is they bought a lot of chocolate," Joy King of The Chocolate Tree said.
